Signature Beauty Bar and Fashions of Granbury offers a completely unique experience for every woman. At Signature, the staff is prepared to offer everything from full makeovers, eyelashes, custom spray tans, and even waxing and brow work with their in-house esthetician. But, Signature is so much more than a blow-out bar. From footwear, to dress and accessories, to hair and make-up, Signature is meant to feel “like your best friend’s closet,” Owner Donna Sullivan explains.

Many of us have memories of getting ready for the biggest event of the year in our adolescence, like the Prom. We’d get together with our closest friends and figure out the best look and latest fashion trends, together. The idea behind Signature Beauty Bar and Fashions is that every customer can walk in and be greeted with kindness and professionalism, while still feeling the comfort of a best girlfriend in what seems like our most vulnerable moments.

“We beat ourselves up too much as women,” Donna said. “Everyone has their own ‘Signature’ and we’re trying to give you your own, signature look… There is something for everyone here. This is an open minded space, a place not to critique ourselves, instead it’s a place to love, admire – and accessorize our beauty.” Donna explains, “We’re the go to for when you have a special event and need to feel like your best self.”

It doesn’t stop there, Signature hosts a monthly Girls’ Night Out at the Salon. Donna and her staff carefully plan each event to answer some of customers’ biggest questions. For example, last month, Signature hosted a a contour class. The class included a kit and brush. As a 38 year old woman, I love this idea! I’m terrified of trying anything like contouring, but I’ve seen it’s wonders.

Donna has been a professional make-up artist since 1984. She knows what to look for and the questions people are afraid to ask. At another one of her Girls’ Night Out events, she invited RN, Stephanie Sherwood, for a question and answer session – all about Botox.

Signature just celebrated their five year anniversary, not an easy feat caught in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020. Among many hospitality businesses, the government also shut down salons down during the pandemic. Donna was forced to relinquish her brick and mortar and continued to sell fashions out of her home, just to keep business going.

During this time, it was community members that knew Donna and her flair for all things beauty that kept her business alive, a bittersweet show of success and affection for such a talented entrepreneur.

Executive Director of Forward Training Center of Granbury, Katy Offutt, was one of these clients. The pandemic started to slow down and business started to pick up. Donna was ready for a new space. Upon moving in, Katy suggested to Donna that they work toward hosting a fundraising event together. Katy suggested doing a style show at Granbury Live! Donna loves the mission of Forward Training Center, so the relationship was kismet.

This dream quickly became a reality and a great opportunity for Donna to host her five year anniversary, as well as her second launch into the community, simultaneously.

The two, along with staff, took the Girls’ Night Out idea and magnified it into a secret dinner and fashion show. They also collaborated with local boutique, Bella Rosa. Sponsors helped to provide food and drink. Tickets to the “Sparkle and Shine Soiree” sold out quickly, it’s clear the community was ready for this event! This summer’s Soiree raised $5000 for Forward Training Center and goers all had positive reviews.

Donna credits much of her success to her best friend, Robert A. Diaz. For decades, even back in Tampa and the East Coast where Donna lived, Robert, an exceptionally talented designer and make-up artist, always supported Donna’s dreams. He helped her see her biggest ideas to fruition, mentoring her along the way.

Robert passed away in 2016 and his influence is commemorated by Donna. He believed you should always be the best dressed person in the room, even if the room is a baseball game. His brand was, “Live beautifully and dress to the 9’s.” It’s this mantra that is exhibited on the back wall of the Signature Salon.

Donna encourages women to embrace their unique beauty and to be confident. It seems that Donna finds beauty in almost everything, not to mention, she’s an expert self esteem coach.

Donna looks forward to more fashion shows and partnering with local boutiques. Stay posted  for more exciting events from Signature Beauty Bar and Fashions of Granbury. Sparkle and shine on, y’all!
